Anti-Spam Question:

Seldane and Seldane-D, allergy medications manufactured by Hoescht Marion Roussel and Baker Norton Pharmaceuticals, were removed from the market in 1998 after the FDA discovered that the drugs could cause rare but serious heart problems and sometimes fatal heart arrhythmia when they were taken in combination with certain other drugs, especially antibiotics and anti-fungals.

Seldane and Seldane-D contain terfenadine, a substance believed to cause certain serious heart conditions. The manufacturers decided to remove Seldane and Seldane-D after they developed what appears so far to be a safer alternative, the popular allergy drug Allegra. Allegra contains fexofenadine hydrochloride rather than terfenadine.
