Remicade, also known as Infliximab, is an anti-TNF drug used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's Disease. It is given by intravenous injection under medical supervision and often prescribed in combination with methotrexate. The drug is manufactured by Centocor and marketed in association with Johnson and Johnson.
Remicade has been associated with symptoms suggestive of demyelination or nerve damage. The FDA recently reported that a small number of cases of serious nervous system problems including confusion, numbness, changes in vision and difficulty walking, have been reported to be associated with the use of this drug.
